The foundation under your mattress is like the tires on your car. If you want a good comfortable ride for your mattress, then you want a good foundation. Something that is going to last, Mountain Air Organic Beds™ heavy duty, organic foundation.

If you have a headboard and footboard, then you will need this foundation. If you just have a headboard, you might want to purchase our platform bed which can be made to sit at any height. Both are easy to assemble and disassemble. Simply assemble with just a hand drill. The ends of the frame easily hook together with sturdy brackets. It is easy to take into small stairways, because you put it together in your bedroom. Perfect for tiny houses and urban living.

More than likely you will need to replace the foundation under your mattress when you. purchase your mattress. Unfortunately, foundations today, contain chemical flame retardants, made from unstable scraps placed far apart, held together by staples with cardboard on top. Older foundations may have slight dips in them that will transfer to your mattress. You need a proper foundation to go under our mattresses. Please do not use foundations that have wires or springs in them as the metal will cut into your latex and void your warranty. This is one more reason we do not use coils in our mattresses either. You can not put our mattresses on anything that gives, such as a plastic Sleep Number foundation.

Buying a king size mattress? Then you will want this foundation. We don’t put two twin long boxes under your bed like others do, which causes that “king crown” lump in the middle of your mattress. Instead, our foundation is a real king size foundation designed to hold the weight of 600 lbs of sleepers on each side. Great for extra heavy sleepers. Built tough and strong.  Metro Feet sold separately.

Foundation is covered in organic cotton.

When ordering a mattress, please don't guess or assume you know the size for sure. This is an investment, so we request you please measure you current mattress and choose the correct size. For example: a King size mattress is 76" x 80" vs a California King is 72" x 84". This is a common mistake, this is why we mention it. King size is most common. California King is for tall people who don't want their feet. hanging off the bed or have a more narrow room but want it wider than a 60" queen mattress.
