The life of your mattress and your comfort depends upon your foundation.The foundation under your mattress is like the tires on your car. If you want a good comfortable ride for your mattress, then you want a good foundation. Something that is going to last, Mountain Air Organic Beds™ heavy duty, EZ Snap organic foundation are built to hold our mattresses with some surprising, exclusive features not found in traditional foundations. Unfortunately, foundations today, contain chemical flame retardants, made from unstable scraps placed far apart, held together by staples with cardboard on top. Older foundations may have slight dips in them that will transfer to your mattress.

If your mattress is 10" or under

Mountain Air Organic Beds™ EZ Snap foundations are built tough. Our 9 inch, high profile foundation height is recommended for all Mountain Air Organic Beds™ mattresses 10 inches or under in height. Our foundations and platform beds are handcrafted in the Ozark Mountains and are essential for proper support and comfort.

If your mattress is over 10" thick

We traditionally recommend the 5 1/2" inch foundation for mattresses over 10 inches thick.Our foundations can me custom made to any height to accomodate any sleeper, no matter how tall you are. Just measure where you want the height of the mattress to come and the top of your slats and we will figure the rest. Something to take into consideration is where you want the mattress to hit on your headboard as well.

Who needs a foundation?

If you have a headboard and footboard, then you will need this foundation. If you just have a headboard, you might want to purchase our optional metro feet or our platform bed to get the bed to the height you like for storage underneath without using unsightly metal frames. Better yet, our platform bed would be a excellent choice; both are easily assemble and disassemble. Simply assemble with just a hand drill. The ends of the frame easily hook together with sturdy brackets. It is easy to take into small stairways, because you put it together in your bedroom. Perfect for tiny houses and urban living.

If you just have a headboard only, you can purchase a platform bed and attach your own headboard.

What is a Mary Jane Bed?

A Mary Jane style of bed is when you put your mattress directly on slats. This is our SLAT KIT which is the same price as our foundation as it includes 2 boards to sit on top of the rails. Mary Jane beds cost less than our regular foundations because it requires less wood. See Slat kit prices here. YOu must have a headboard and footboard to use a slat kit.

Why EZ Snap foundations by Mountain Air Organic Beds?

Buying a king size mattress? Then you will want this foundation. We don’t put two twin long boxes under your bed like others do, which causes that “king crown” lump in the middle of your mattress. Instead, our foundation is a real king size foundation with two center support bars. Great for extra heavy sleepers. Built tough and strong. 

Going up stairs or in tight spaces?

EZ Snap foundations come unassembled so you can get through tight spaces with a breeze. If you can get a board 80" long x 5 1/2" wide through your door and up your stairs then our foundations are the best choice. Less risk of damaging the walls.
